I call this email “the week ahead” but what a week we have had behind us.  As a reminder, and to let newly signed up resisters know, the purpose of my weekly is to focus on actions we can take in the week ahead and beyond. 

We Won! Rochester won! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for voting in the local town election.  I was doing my happy dance when the results came in, hard to describe the feeling of joy, I hope you all felt it too.

I trust many of you have been hard at work defending democracy since the last email, and for that we thank you!  I worry every week the sense of urgency will fade, and we will tire of fighting. 

As we continue our efforts to “Cleanup on Aisle 47” the resistance is paying off.  Revoked international student visas were restored in record numbers.

Thank you to everyone who made it to the protest in Fairhaven on Saturday, April 19. This was our largest crowd to date — the best estimate is 500 protestors. I’ve attached a link from The New Bedford Light about the protest.

It may sound like a broken record, and it will—for the next four years. Protest. Call. March. Donate. Write letters to the editor. Recruit like-minded voters. Support local candidates. The list goes on. These are the actions we must take if we want to avoid silently watching our democracy erode. We cannot let up.
