ROCHESTER DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE

The RDTC believes the "Freedom to Read" is a fundamental right to access information, ideas, and diverse viewpoints through reading, protected by the First Amendment, championed by organizations like Authors Against Book Bans, the American Library Association (ALA) , and the Freedom to Read Foundation (FTRF), and promoted through events like the Right to Read Day on 10/11/2025 to counter censorship and promote open inquiry in libraries.
