On August 18th, 2025 the Rochester Democratic Committee held the first ever fundraiser for a democratic committee in Rochester. It was a great success bringing together state, county. and local officials. The fundraiser brought together Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, State Representative Mark Sylvia, and our "Five Town DTC Coalition" consisting of Rochester, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, Marion, and Acushnet.. Present were school committee members from the five towns as well as other elected officials from New Bedford to Rochester. We additionally heard from author and activist Michelle Cusolito concerning the "Freedom to Read" and "Authors Against Book Bans". All this under a beautiful tent and under a sunny sky. The event was well attended and raised thousands of dollars toward fostering democratic values in Rochester and beyond.
